speed

help!!! my guagu is going nuts. it wont display the miles per hour once i begin too move. everything else works odometer, trip and high beam. once i get up too about 165 mph, it will barely display those numbers but only for about 5 seconds, but it wont show mph throughout the entire range. does anyonethink i need a new cluster pod.i been looking, they want 600 big ones for this part. just want too know input before i order part or does it matter thta i want too see hoe fast i am flying

Whats up bro? Contact CHAMPS387 he was selling a gauge cluster for a 2001 R1 with 3000 something miles for like $200 or $250. He might still have it. He is a member here. Tell him I sent you. Good luck.

Maybe the speed sensor is "out of order"...check it.

See sevice manual for the procedure.

Sensor is probably not working or not adjusted right. I would certainly check that out b4 I would dish out $600 for an instrument pod...

SENSORS ARE OKAY. JUST WHEN I TURN ON THE KEY FOR SYSTEM CHECK,IT DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO,THEN THERE IS A 0 MPH READING THEN THAT SPACE IS BLANK.
