I gotto say all the advice I have gotten in here has ben invaluable thanks to every one you guys and girls are great, one more polishing Q how do I polish the swing arm can it be done with out removing it if not how hard is it to remove

Remove it. It is not hard to remove but the hard part is gonna be how to hold the bike up. Once you figure that out it is cake.

good ol tie downs

Stabilize the naked ass of your R-1 in the air with some tie-downs and the overhead joist/rafters of your garage. This should work fine for you.
Note: this also works well with the ladies!!
