What's wrong with my sig?

How come my sig doesn't show up when i use the quick replay?
Do i need to check the "show signature" box everytime i reply?

i looked in the usercp, but i do not see anything that has been changed to cause this.

Is this new?

Yes, if you use the quick reply box, and want your sig to appear, check the "Show Signature" option.

Wow, thanks for the appreciation. I just spent over 16 hours upgrading our base code, coding new features, preparing for a new generation of release and adding enhancements that members requested; yet because you have to select a check box, your calling the process “dumb”.

Merry F’ning Christmas to you too…

I dont think budha was trying to be negitive. I see where he's coming from.I have a question of my own...why have you spent 16 hours on this modification and not on a live chat room? You know everyone wants one. If you put up a poll and asked i bet you $100 (if you leave it fair) that it would be at least a 89% of the vote to have a live chat. Although this isnt a new subject, just thought Id share.

Quick update:
If the member has a signature entry, the signature box is automatically selected. If the member doesn’t have an entry in the signature text area under “UserCP/Edit Profile”, the select box remains unchecked.

In addition, if the member has “default email notification” selected as Yes in “UserCP/Edit Options”, the quick reply “email notification” check box will follow accordingly.

You may also notice you can select an action upon posting a quick reply, this actions include returning to the thread, returning to forum section, performing a new posts search and returning to the main forum display. These features have also been incorporated into the standard reply box, primarily to improve maneuverability.

Note: A formal announcements of new features will be made later in the week.

Thanks!

Boomhauer:
Yes, a standard “reply” will include additional posting capabilities, including smilies, attachments. The quick reply is what it implies “A Quick Reply”.

ImagineParadise:
The chat services have been completed for sometime, that isn’t the issue; the problem is management, specific if not limited to a secure connection with the member database. In the past chat services have not offered a method of confirming user status prior to allowing access; our system will validate to insure a “chat” client is of course an R1-Forum.Com member (including key members security parameters).

As for the time recently spent, changes were designed in preparation for future growth as well as provide minor enhancements that have been requested on repeated occasions. As with any change or “base code” upgrade, you first much document all functionality, prior undocumented changes must be analyzed and documented accordingly, base code is then upgraded (after critical archives are confirmed); at that stage the base code is then re-analyzed for new structures; code enhancements are then applied to bring about prior functionality with minimal user interruption. During this stage all modifications are carefully documented in a detailed journal, this is to insure procedures are followed in the event a new “base code” is required. Recently we eliminated over 52 documented bugs within the “base code”, this was to insure database stability and improved system reliability. While the user may not be aware of these changes, as an administrator I’m privy to them on a daily basis.

Upon upgrading the “base code”, documented enhancements/modifications are then modified accordingly to accommodate “base code” changes; these enhancements are then applied and tested; during this phase features can be added as a byproduct. The byproduct of our recent “base code” upgrade were several new “moderator” features (i.e. back office services); unseen to the general membership; in addition to quick reply features as mentioned above; this of course has been only a portion of the enhancements added throughout the entire community. As I mentioned above, a formal release will be posted in the future.

Regards.

Well, the online chat has been up for a couple of days now, I don't recall seeing you there yet

I thought that was the point of a "quick reply" where no sig pics or smilies were needed??
