wanted: 00/01/02 R1
hi. i'm looking to buy an '00 or newer R1 in the next week or so(i'm just waiting for payment on an ebay sale i made today). i'm willing to pay $5500 including shipping to southern californial, or if it helps to save shipping costs i can meet to pick up the bike within 300 miles of my home. PM me if you have a bike for me, and let me know what the mods are/mileage/condition, etc. obviously 5500 is pretty reasonable for an 00 or 01, but isn't very generous for an 02 model. i wish i had a bigger budget, but the truth is after ebay fees and such i really only have about 5200 to spend and i'm willing to kick in a few hundred if it'll help me get a nicer bike. let me know....and if it matters, i'm going to PAMPER this bike. garaged, washed every weekend...but with plenty of time on it's rear wheel. if you have pics you can send, my email is ROGERSJAKE@comcast.net

damn...i say 5500, and i get a reply for 9000. ummm well at least it's a reply i guess. thanks anyway, but it's way out of my pricerange. not to be a jerk, but i don't even think 9k is reasonable for an 03 with that many miles when a brand new, dramatically improved, way sexier 04 wouldn't be much more than that.
does anyone have a bike that would fit my description better?

I think you can find a 2000 R1 for 5500 if you take the time to look for it. 2001-2003 can run you about 6000 to 9000.

Somehow I dont think my bank would let me sell it for less than I owe on the loan
I mean jesus christ I dont think 9 grand is that bad for a bike that is only 8 months old and has a shit load of mods on it. everybody wnats somthing for nothing. just another display of THE MAN trying to take me for a ride sure you can get an 04 pay taxes and insurance and all that shit that you have to put up with a dealer but whatever man.

haha, sorry slutty! didn't mean to offend. actually i used to be in your shoes. i had a 99 R1 before(got stolen)....i was trying to sell the 99 for 6k and i saw a guy with an 02 let his go for 5500 on this forum. i flipped out at that one...but now i'm wishing for that guy to come back with another one!
as i sit right now, i might(reluctantly) have to switch teams and get a gixxer....i found an 01 750 that's really clean with yosh exhaust, nice helmet, and jacket for 4900. i'd still rather have an r1 for 5500, but 5500 is my top dollar and i'm ready to buy THIS WEEK!
anyway slutty.....best of luck to you with your bike. i think it'll be tough with the 04's just around the corner but you never know.
if anyone has an r1 for 5500....let me know please. i'm impatient. it's a character flaw.

I have a blue 2000 R1 with only 6k miles. Full yosh system is the only major mod. The carbon yosh pipe is however cracked from being knocked over, otherwise it is in good condition. I will sell it to you for 5500, but you have to pay shipping. It is located in South FL. I would also need to send it off by Monday as I am leaving to go up north for 4 months or so and the bike won't be going with me. I can't get photoshop to open or I would post a pic, so I will e-mail it to ya if you like.

well, the bike sounds great but i won't have the cash until tues or weds of this week. i sold some seadoos on ebay and i'm meeting the buyer(who is paying cash) tues or weds. in a perfect world i'd be able to smell the cash, and then immediately drive it over to someone and fork it over for a bike. looks like timing isn't on our side....but thanks anyway.

I really don't want to sell it anyway, just won't be back in FL to ride it for more than a couple of weeks until... August, thought I would throw it out there.

i'd love to bump that price up to that price so i could get an 02 for sure....but the only reason i have the 5500 is from selling a pair of sea doos that i owned free and clear. my live in girlfriend already kinda hinted that i should spend the money on an engagement ring...and i had to promise not to spend EXTRA money on a bike since she isn't real thrilled about me on a bike again anyway. it's a long story, and i do hold the title to my own balls....but i'd like to keep the homestead pleasant too.
