Custom LED packaging - Uncool
Ok, so the Custom LED taillight for the '04 is probably a worn out discussion. And yes I seem to be in a mood today for some cosmic reason unknown. But for $189.00 you'd think the mfg could afford a box for their product. Maybe even one with a picture on it. Below is what I recieved my $189.00 "Custom LED" taillight in. Could the company possibly be more tacky, cheap and unprofesional? And no, I'm not talking about McCoy, their just the reseller, so don't jump on me for that. They need to pick up a book on marketing.

Yes, it was in a probably free Fedex bubble envelope. It didn't exactly add to the experience though.

Seems like it should be in a static free package too like most computer electronics are shipped in ....

not really there is no microchips on it, but yes it should be packed much more nicely... This bag looks worse than packaging in liquor store

So are you installing the packaging or the part? I've purchased 2 CustomLED's and both have installed exactly as prescribed in the instructions and work flawlessly, and both with no damage from shipping! I think the packaging lasted a whole 30 seconds after I got a hold of it! What do you want, a pretty package or a well designed piece?

I think it was fairly obvious that I want both. Did you miss the point entirely or just a little bit?

I got mine in a similar package recently and the led board was surrouned with bubble wrap inside that package and all the parts accounted for (even two extra padded packages around the outside of the package. I'm glad it was packaged that way and the bubble wrap shows protection was in mind and all the little connectors don't get scattered all over the box that way, but I guess if I was on the rag I'd find something to whine about too. btw Installed the thing is INCREDIBLE. much better then the other crap around for the 04s I've seen on this forum (what I saw doesn't even blink yellow :barf)

Yeah the packaging was not up to par. But on the other hand I guess you know what you're getting so why spend the money trying to dress up the product. For $189 sh*t I wouldn't get it if they charged us more to cover their marketing expenses. Kinda like those Air Jordan 17's that came in a metal briefcase and costed $200, you're only gonna wear the sneaker F#CK the briefcase, they can keep that and give me $60 bucks back. So yeah I agree cheap packaging but so what I like the product, it came w/ clear and precise instructions. If the box it came in was nice I would still just throw it in the garbage.

Hey Problem... They were put together that way at my direction... From what I'm told the same manufactuer provides the packaging setups to John at Custom LED and those packages since they are a different shape for the 04's size were going to arrive a week after they came in to stock.. There was no way in HELL I was going to let all of our customers wait another week for them so me, my wife, Mike McCoy and his wife stayed at the shop till 4am the night they arrived getting them packaged up in what we had so everyone that had overnight orders, our dealers and regular customers could get them RIGHT away... We wrapped all the boards in bubble packaging, added instructions, the required connectors etc.. I send out 180 orders for them that day and two days later 200 more went out... That was just TOO many customers that we appreciate way too much to make them wait any longer... Have you got it installed yet? We played around with installing one on our red 04, they are so trick..

You complaint is that the packaging isnt perfect? Is your part damaged in any way? Running a business must suck, there is always someone complaining about something. I cant believe someone would complain about something as trivial as this.
Oh, I didnt get a pretty box, oh, Im just not happy at all.

Spiderman, you did an awesome job, and I personally thank you for gettn them out to me extra fast. Thank your wife also. You obviously know what its like to order stuff and then wait 3 weeks for it to show up. The extra effort is much appreciated. You could have shipped it in a smelly sock, as long as it works. If I ever need something else for the bike, I would not think twice ordering from you guys! Thanks again.
Problem child- well you're acting like one, I'm sure you bitch at the waiter at every resturant you eat at too. Before you rip somebody, think about it.

Shane,
I got mine and it ROCKS! The only thing I did different was to leave the 2nd lens in (defuser lens)! I liked it better with it in and it didn't seem to diminish the brightness at all, also no bleed over either! I looked at it both ways. Just JMO. Again that's for the prompt shipping. Hope I wasn't too much of a pest! lol
