Hi !!!!!!
I'm new to the forum and have a 2002 R1, I'm thinking of adding a G.P.Tech rear thumb brake, has anybody used one or have opinions on this product. Here in the U.K. very rarely used.

On track it might be a good thing.. but for the street I believe it's a total waste of money.
my 2 cents

i"m not completely with you swedie...
could be really usefull in case a wheelie go too far back,or if you need to keep that nitrous shot in control...
i"m pretty sure you would find a use for new tricks too.
(specially you swedie!)

oh.. yah.. you're right. It does allow for more tricky stunts on yer bike..
But I though about it in racing aspect.

nope.....and i dont think the $285 will fit...its for race use only where the fork mounted can be used for street with the pods.
take a look at your left clipon...do you think there"s space enough to mount it?
nope....
you got 2 other options available and known to me....
Harris and AP....and those are very expensive.
GPtech is the way to go.(fork mount)

OK, Martin, I took a look at your thumb brake pics and it looks nice. Just what I wanna get next. It seems as though I would need a thumb brake cylinder correct? Is that what that black thingy is next 2 it in this pic.
Besides that, whst else do I need...PODS? Dunno what that is....and also can U still use ur rear brake lever along with the thumb brake with the GP tech system....and finally how much will it cost me, roughly?
Thanks a bunch....I have been progressing with my wheelies but I DO NOT wanna loop my bike and I feel very uncomfortable covering the rear brake while i'm up on 1 wheel.
Thanks again....

all is needed besides the fork-mounted kit is a fluid reservoir (Harris reservoirs available through ema-usa or gptech)and a custom line (gptech can provide you with the correct line-Galfer-for $85usd).
yes,you retain the rear pedal...the kit comes with an adaptor.
unfortunately the fork-mounted kit is very expensive...like $585usd.
about the pods...i meant the switch pod on the clipon.
there is just no space to add anything there.
