question regarding tank pad for my 50th anniversary

Hi guys
i think this tank pad is not factory and perhaps looks tacky and maybe its a cheap Chinese version. I am keeping my 50th 100%stock and so id like to know if there is a period correct factory genuine yamaha r1 tank pad i can buy

No tank pads were factory so you can pretty much rock what you want.
You could get clear if you don't want to affect the look of stock or a plain carbon fiber would be cool too.

ps If you really want to change it, you can't go wrong with the classic Pro Grip fake carbon pad.

Personally I think tank pads look horrid (or at least all of the ones I've seen), I went with a paint protection kit from thetankslapper.biz, it protects my paint and is almost invisible on the bike.
