2016 R1S Model Questions?

Prices on the 16 R1S is below $10K. I've wanted a 16+ R1 since they came out with all the electronics and this price point makes it affordable! I hear the differences between the S and the standard model are not that great and a rider at my level would never notice. Any reason I should not be buying the S model over standard? The bike will be mostly street duty unless I sell the R6 track bike and ride this on track too. I ride in the lower 50% of advanced group currently.

Short answer is, you'll be fine with an R1S. By the time you're riding at the pro level you'll be frustrated by the 12k red line but it's no deal breaker by any means, especially since at the level of riding where you'd even notice it at all, you're using specific gearing for each track. It's the kind of thing that just sorts itself, kinda.

All the electronics are identical.

R1S lacks a QS.
