Not quite sure how it happened, i was just kind of on the internet at the right time, haha. But I wasn't going to buy until june-july, and then this deal came along. I thought it was too good to be true, so I talked to three separate people in the hopes of finding some new information, and them talking me out of it, but everyone seemed to be of a similar mindset to me... So i did it. No ragrets...Not even a letter!

....I'm aware of my erroneous spelling of "regrets"

Anyway, now I'm the proud owner of an R1.. Dream accomplished. Now i just need to get it past break-in so I can have some real fun.

break in, pffft
no need for that
do 4-5 half throttle roll ons from 4-8000rpm in 3rd and let engine braking slow you down
then do 4 or 5 3/4 throttle roll ons from 6-10,000 rpm again letting the engine braking slow you down.
it's that engine braking you want, the pressure helps the piston rings seal.
should take no more than 50-100 miles, then change oil and filter and you're good to go

It sucks how much that scares me, haha. I've already got 230 ish miles on it (haven't owned it for very long), and i've been super nice to it, with a few decent throttle hits... Nothing above 8500 though, becuase I'm a wuss... Starting to get frustrated though, haha.

There have been experiments that have shown that the difference in engine performance AND measurements doesn't exist from one break-in methodology to another. So, f*** it, I'm in.

Plus, i need to feel full throttle on this thing. Can't wait till my next ride, now!

That's no joke. My first time riding an 18 R1 (not mine) was on a race track. When that tach turned green, it shot forward... in WHATEVER gear, haha. I needed my brown leathers after that. But I can't wait!
