i looked all through the repair man. couldnt find it.. i thought that too, but i didnt see it in the scematics..

never seen it before, pretty sure it's not out of a 98 or 99 R1.

i bought a 98 turbo bike half put back together. Everything was in a couple of boxes, and all the parts are there, and this is the only extra.. Im pretty sure it goes somewhere.

Looks like the inards of the oil check valve in the bottm of the motor. Most guys never disassemble them, but I swear it looks like one I tore apart once. Not really sure though.

Can you put something familiar(babyoil, golf club, and 3 ice cubes)by it so we can get a feel for the size.

looks like a needle jet holder to me. VERY similar to the one from my 600R. don't have a pic of the actual piece, but that's what i remember from disassembling my carbs.

edit: found the pic from my service manual (600R). pic 5, part 3:



is there a hole on the rounded end?

The R1 uses a diaphram and not a spring if I remember corectly.

yeah, not sure if it was the same setup. is it different than this?
