Website Builders

Hello, I want to make a niche website particularly with a focus on sport motorcyles. I was supposed to hire someone to do it through a website but apparently, web developers rates are too high and out of my initial budget. Now, I am just after the content of my website and not so much on how beautiful the designs are. Do you think I can DIY it using a website builder? I have no HTML or any coding knowledge but they say that it's easy if I choose a website builder.

Right now I am looking at these websites:
hPage Website Builder- https://ww.hpage.com
Wix Website Builder- http://www.wix.com
Webs Website Builder- http://www.webs.com

Has anyone had any experience with them and which one do you think is the best website builder for beginners?

You could hire a college kid (with a pleasant portfolio) to do it for a grand or you could use one of the many website builders available.

Developing the website yourself will be time consuming. It'd take you about a week minimum. The benefits to developing the website yourself (or through the use of a college kid) would be an incredible amount of customization and the utilization of back-end systems.

If you wanted something more generic and wanted the ability to customize and add content on the fly without much effort, then the website builders are probably your best bet. You can still have a very functional and clean website. Most of them are drag and drop, insert file, resize, and inputting text into divs. That being said, I've only seen squarespace.

Here's a list of top ranked website builders. Your best bet would be to try some of the free versions to see which one's offer the tools you need. A simple blog/forum/email system should be obtainable from all of them.

https://wordpress.com/ or wix if you're looking for a way to get going.

If you want a full experience, dynamic content, flexibility, etc... then you need to go custom route, have someone build it for you. With wix, once you pick a template, you cannot change it, so think twice about design and pages flow before publishing.

It really depends on what you want the website for? What is it that you want to do? Are you selling things? Will there be a user forum? Are you simply posting pics for your friends? Like z00, I like wordpress. But I have some HTML and Ruby experience. I also have experience with Dreamweaver. PM me. Maybe I can help?
