R1murdered Well no results between the CBR and the R1. Got much too drunk the night before so we watched football and drank more instead of riding. Maybe next year.

Are there any differences between 07 & 08 besides color scheme?

So I am probably doing somewhere in the 160's when I run into the limiter. And I mean run into the limiter. It is like hitting a wall as soon as the speedo reads 189. This also happened above 5000 feet so I can't imagine what you sea level guys are feeling. I have gone with a 190/55 rear on this set of tires so this will add a little more actual speed. I purchased and installed a speedo healer v4 today. I have programmed A mode to correctly calibrate my speedo and B mode to show one half of my actual speed. Now my concern is that I will run into the limiter at the same rpm that I used to it will just be at a different speed. My bike is mildly modified with a full system custom dyno'd map on my pc3, but it still buts out 160 to the wheel at 5280 feet above sea level. I will be able to test this tomorrow. Another 1 and I are going to ride to Wyoming for the weekend and while we are there we are going to head out to an abandoned, closed 10 mile stretch of highway and compare our bikes to a brand new 08 CBR1000RR that is completely stock. Any responses besides "why do you want to go that fast?" and "The R1 just runs out of power, there is no limiter" are extremely welcomed. I will post my results by early next week.

Mine doesn't do that.

R1murdered I am on an Ipad so it is hard to edit posts, but the above should read "puts out 160 at the wheel"

Sorry

Hmm.. Very tempting.. After I get wheels and tires for my truck I think I might have to give them a call.. Early next year I may be making the bike even more awesome..

SpectreZ91 I'm not to worried about mileage. I was getting roughly 40mpg when I was commuting 35-40 miles 1 way.. Now that I'm only going 4 "ish" miles one way my mpg has gone down to the low 20's. So I think I'm just going to build the bike for as much performance as I can with complete disregard for mileage.

I may even start caging it to work and save the R1 for "fun" like it should be.. =)

RUFFSTUFF I didn't like the longer wheelbase of -1 front so I went up 2 in the rear to pull it in, and make it a little snappier. Going up 3 was just a natural progression, but it makes for crap mileage hehehe.

Atleast you understand the throttle response issue...

ECU/YCC-T either way I think the flash would fix it..

As for sprockets.. I did go -1 in the front.. Haven't decided if I want to change the rear yet.. I always say I don't want to give up top speed, but in the 3 years I've had the bike I have never had the speedo above 154, and even then I know it was wrong cause I already went -1 in the front and no speedo healer.

A lot of the reading I've done says it has to do with the ecu being limited from the factory.

But what is so limiting? Hell I still have mine (and it's been paid off for nearly a year) because there's nothing out there that's worth spending more money on. Incremental improvements at best...
