TheDoctorVR46 I am biased to the 07 even with the valve issue. The fix made me love it even more.

i dont think thats correct.. the 07 had a bad ecu programming, the 08 fixed it.. but we've heard / seen more dropped valves out of 08 R1s.

I know a few folks had the 07 and never had a problem. they got their ecu flashed to 08 specs. thats to fix the 5500rpm lag you mentioned.

at least locally it (dropped valve) was predominately an 08 issue.

Everything new is pretty much 20k and above. Even if you get a regular R1 , you have to pipe and tune to get the max power and make it run correctly. Which is another bunch of cash

Yeah. I got a 2009 years ago with 10,000 for $8,000

Some people on here got new 2014s for just under $10,000

dropped valves.. no thanks

for those above thinking the Xpanker vibrates.. tune the stupid thing.. smooth as cake

i would suggest an 07 if you dont want the newer engines.. other than i really would not bother
with an 04-06.. let the past go already. great looking bikes, nothing on bottom end though.

price is obviously a concern, so 2009 to 2014 are your only choice.. get a 2013

Because you can get a brand new leftover for less or about that.

Alexpcrd5911 I recently purchased a 07 R1 with only 19k miles on it and honestly....it amazing. I love the body to the older prior to 09. Crossplane engines I heard sound way different and have a lot more vibration. I can’t deem that 100% factual. But definitely don’t limit yourself. Take a look and do some research. Hope this helped a little
