My 01 R1 has a constant tick in the motor. Runs beautiful, only 15000 miles on it. Has had this tick since 10,000 miles when I bought it, and not one problem. Any ideas? I had a local shop told me it might be a coil or somthing, but they said they were not sure until they pulled it apart.

From what I hear all yamaha's tick sooner or later. My 01R1 started ticking at 18,000 miles and now has over 67,000 miles and still ticks. Still runs great too!!!
