Just got off the phone with with the salesman who sold me my 03' last year.
According to him the exchange value for my 03' with 9500 kilometers(5900 miles) is worth $8500cdn(6500$ usd).

I picked up the 03' on June 25th of last year used it for 2.5 months. I mean the bike is showroom condition. Not a scratch on it. Damn.:rant

And he is selling the new 04' at $13750.00cdn(10570.00usd) + taxes.

Is it just me or does this sound wrong? :(

Your always going to get ripped off on trade in value. Dealers always low ball and flip the bike for a profit. Your best bet would be to sell the bike yourself then take the money and put it toward your new one. If the bike is how you described then you should have no problem selling. Just my 2 cents

IMO yes...You have got 6000 miles on it. A new 03' is selling between $8500-$8900.

Hell no! That price is way too low to trade it in at. He can sell it for around $7500 to a private party.

---03' 1300kilometers (9200miles) 11900cdn (9200usd) - DEMO

Never trade a bike or car in to a dealer unless you have more money than you know what to do with.

Keep the bike and next year consider to get an 04 i don't think there is so much difference in 03 and 04. But if you got the cash then go ahead and spend. As for me, still enjoying my 02:fact :riding

What about the price for the 04'?
I checked out 2 dealers, one is selling the 04
at 14500cdn(11150usd) and the other is 13750cdn(10570usd)

Wow!

Last year the same dealer gave me 6700cdn(5200usd) for my '98
which needed suspension work and had a scratched up swing arm and exhaust from dropping it that spring.

My dealer has a new Black/Flames '03 for $7900. Zero miles. No way I would pay close to $7000 for a used one with no extras if I can get a new one for $7900.

I am getting $6500 for my '02 with 10,000 miles, but he is selling the '04 to me for $9500....

Probably not a great deal since there isn't any difference between the '02 and '04 though....:lol :lol :lol

Nice little resource to have at your disposal.......Kelley Blue Book values......just be sure ya type in your area code.....for my area the trade-in value is only $55xx.......Retail: $8050 so I should be able to get something in between that.....more $ depending on mileage, xtras, etc......not looking to sell mine this year though....took the "big hit" on it in depreciation this year so I'll just ride it another year, possibly two.....
