I was looking at the specs, and it seems that both forks for '02-03 and the '04 are both 43mm. Considering that if the actual mounting diameters are the same, the center to center is the same and the lengths are the same, I'm thinking that I can swap front ends. I know I'll need a new master cylinder, brake lever and all, and maybe even a new triple clamp. I like the 5 spoke wheel and the radial calipers. I'll probably have to wait for squids to wreck and post their parts on ebay. What do you guys think?

Why? If you're not happy with the forks on your '02, it would be better, and cheaper, to send the to Lindemann Engineering (LE) or some other fork-rebuilding outfit.

The forks on my '04 are going out to LE regardless. They do great work.
