I'm just wondering about the drivability of the new 04 R1 comparing to the current model (2003/2004) R6... other than the obvious ... POWER .... but what about in corner, manuverbility, etc...

I read/saw the new 04 R1...and heard tons of positive comments on it...but knowing myself not as good of a driver yet to handle the R1 so I won't be getting it anytime soon...cuz I'll kill myself with in in 5 seconds...

So I'm holding my breath for the 05 R6 ..hopefully it'll make some cool changes like the R1...oh god, I love that undertail exhaust :bow

I own both and race the R6. Just got the 04 R1 on Friday .

They handle very close to each other. For the most part the new R1 is exactly the same, except a grip more HP. They both feel very similar even sitting on them.

Why wait around on an 05 when you can pick up an o3 R6 so cheap right now. the 04 model is the same bike so look for a low milage 03 and you will love it. Great bike to start on and it has more power then you will ever need.

wtf is this guy talking about? 05 isnt going to be different. Its the 06 that will be different. And, for a first bike, do your life a favor and buy a used 600 or something.

I can speculate that '05 R6 will have
- under seat exhaust
- Brembo radial
- an engine similar to '04 R1
- Ram Air ducts

Make a potpourri of Gixxer '04 and a 600RR and u will get a '05 R6 (just kidding!)

I've got both, but i dont race on a road course just drag race. But they habdle similar IMO. Although I feel more comfortable throwing the 6 around the turns.

Keep that thought in mind when you get your R6. :fact It too
will bite you in your ass if you let it.
