I picked up my bike on Saturday. I didn't ride it anywhere except home, because I had stuff to do...
I got home later that night and I was showing my bike to my friend. He noticed that when I had my hand on the right clip-on, there was massive amounts of flex. A bolt in the clip-on assembly was missing (see picture- the circled bolt is the one that was missing). Pretty much freaked me out.
The dealership from which I bought the bike is closed on Sundays, so I rode my bike (carefully) to a different dealership and asked them to hook me up with a bolt, and they did.
After that, I really started riding it, trying to keep the RPMs below 7k, per the owner's manual. The thing is much, much faster than I ever thought it would be. I can't even begin to imagine that thing being my first bike, let alone a liter bike, know what I'm saying?
The front tire came up a few times from throttle only. And that's with me still being afraid to just grab a handful of gas! BTW, anybody know how optimistic the speedometer is? I was doing 75 or 80 on the freeway, but it didn't feel like I was going that fast. Also, I wasn't passing many cars at that speed.
The wheelbase is shorter than my ducati by about two inches, yet it's much more stable and planted, especially on the freeway.
Anyway, the thing is tons of fun. I think I'll keep my ducati monster (for a while at least), because it's nice to have variety, but I don't see myself riding anything but the R6
