Hi all, just got my Silver R1 the other day and after looking at the tyres and reading all the write-ups in these forums, I was surprised to my baby shod in Michelins Pilot Power, front and rear.

From Michelin's UK website: http://www.michelin.co.uk

NEW TYRE FOR HYPERSPORTS USE

The softest tyre in its class.

The Michelin Pilot Power is the softest of the hypersport tyres currently available on the market. It is 6% softer than its nearest competitor. Michelin’s unique compound mixes and use of 100% silica ensures that there is no compromise in terms of durability, that is normally associated with soft compound tyres.

I'm just wondering how many variations of factory fit on the 04R1 that people have noticed.

Here's a piccy of a beautiful back end (apart from the ugly fender, which is going quite soon)

Cheers all, Warp.
p.s. still have zero kms on it, believe it or not.

Here's a piccy of her and her sister, before she came out off the showroom. Only three have come to this country, as the red has already gone.....notice the gold forks as well, definitely beats black ones on some that I have seen.

My mate Khalid, who had just ridden into the dealership workshop, when I snapped this piccy of him and his awesome MV Agusta F4. I almost (almost mind you..LOL:jump ) changed my mind on the 04R1. This is one nice sounding and looking motorcycle. Khalid had the pipes professionally modified in the UK, when he was doing the first stage of the Neil McKenzie UK Superbike school.

If I ever get a audio file of it, I'll post it.

There are two variations. The new Dunlop 218s on this side of the pond, and the new Michelins on the other side.

I'm no expert at all, so I would imagine either tyre would be up to street riding standard. I have heard guys saying the Dunlop's are woeful, but I think that was more from a track perspective.

Thoughts..!?

Read my track review/comparo with the 04 stock vs my 00 track bike. The tires are fantastic.
