I need to know if 04 transmission dog gears on the main input shaft will work for an 08 r1...anybody have any input on this ,thanks

Did you try looking up the part numbers?

In the service manual they look the same for both years but I don't know if that's just to illustrate, or accurate so you would have to check with parts #
