just a observation but had my 2004 r1 just over 2 weeks ,had a 2003 R6 before that and find the R1 much smoother easier to handle bike alround ,always found my R6 bit twitchy, just a personal observation and just wondered who else thinks the same?

the r6 is very light and its geometry is different

could be the reason
i think they're both very easy bikes to ride. i never really felt my R6 was twitchy, but then again I had my suspension properly sorted.
I agree actually. The main reason being the power delivery in 1st gear. You need to control the throttle a little more carefully when starting from a stop, and taking a left or right turn on the R6 than with the R1 it seems.
