2005 r1 no headlights

Hello everyone. I have been reading over countless hours on here about my problem and have found 1 post similar to my situation but no solutions were posted. I have a 2005 r1 that has no headlights or high beams. Also the rad fan relay is not clicking on. The headlight on off relay doesn't click on either. I have replaced all the relays. I ended up tracing wires and found that the yellow and black wire coming from the headlight on off relay isn't grounding at the ecu. If I put a jumper wire on the yellow black wire then ground it.. the light come one and high beams work. This is the same with the green yellow wire coming off rad fan relay. I took apart ecu connector and inspected every pin and traced every wire and everything looks good. I even cut and replaced all pins and connector on the main harness connections. All fuses are good and get power like they should. I even bought a new ecu and still have the same problem. I am lost and frustrated and am thinking my only hope is to bypass the ecu on the grounds and work.out some toggle switch method. Any thoughts or advice would greatly be appreciated

D*** these r1 headlights
Maybe you already know this but the headlights only come on when the engine is running. I scratched my head for months because my Honda headlights come on as soon as you turn the key on.
Pull your ECU plug and Ohm out the ground wires on the plug to ground. Bet you have a floating one.

I appreciate your feedback. I have not tried the new ecu when bike is running. The headlights and fan relay would not work when bike was running or not unless those wires were grounded to something metal on the bike so I figured when I plugged the new one in and got the same results... I was like crap. I'll get it together and start it up to see if it does work. I wasn't sure if the bike needed to be running in order for the light and fan relays to click on. I'll try that then post back. Thanks again

Sharksawyer... I have ohm'd the wire from the lights relay to the sub harness connector and it is good but I have not tried it from connector to ecu. I was able to pull the wire from ecu through the harness and back to inspect for any breaks and all looked good. I took the ecu connector apart and inspect each individual pin and that looked really good too. I was not able to check the wire from fan relay because it runs through a lot of harness and I'm trying hard to avoid pulling the harness out. I hate wiring. Do you know what resistance measure would deam the wire bad? I'm fearing I'll end up having to buy a new harness now. Fingers crossed we can get it straightened out. Thanks for your help too
Normal resistance should be really low. Meter will probably read .2-.4 Ohms if the wire is good. I would like to see you measure all your black wires on the ECU plug to ground and see what you get. Do you have a service manual? Schematic is on the last page.

Ok. I'll definitely pull the meter out and test those wires. I'll test the black wires and the yellow/black wire and green/yellow wire which are the culprits. I got it put back together right now so tomorrow I'll pull It out and fire it up... take it for a ride and see if there's any change. If not then I'll use your advice and post back here.

Ok so I just pulled the bike out and started it up... lights came right on. Thanks Jimbalaya for bringing that up because I would of pulled every wire off the bike searching for the problem and never would of thought once to start it up and check if the ecu is intact good. So for sure my problem was a bad ecu. Thanks everyone for coming to my aide. Super stoked I can do my final assembly
