Service manual 5-20 to 5-23, just follow any aftermarket CCT install.
The new CCT should be locked and the key thing from the manual says "Unlock the timing chain tensioner by turning the crankshaft counterclockwise, and tension the timing chain.".
The chain isnt just going to fall off, you would need to try starting the bike without the CCT in. You can use a screwdriver to manually keep pressure on the guide while replacing the CCT.
if you leave the valve cover on the nylon guide keeps it firmly on the gears and you dont have to worry
