Hello,

Has anyone stripped down their R1 yet? Like remove the Charcoal canister and all the components related to the SMOG system?

per the magazine the claimed wet weight is 199kg/439lb

How much of weight savings with all that stuff taken off including the catalytic converter... that thing looks twice as heavy as the one on my 2007 R6?

Also anyone have or had a 2007-2014 Yamaha R6? Reason I ask is how is the width of the new R1 compared to the R6? same, more narrow or wider?

With the charcoal canister, smog system and cat system removed... it is about 14lbs in weight. I also had an 07 r6. The r1m is almost as narrow as the r6 and the r1m handles like the r6.
