a 2929 model for $22K is a steal...Do you have pix of this futuristic R1M. Very curious!

Come on, I assumed I'm speaking with folks with intelligence. Been on this forum for long time, but left for a while. Looks like IQ numbers dont mean what they used to.
It's sad, but there aren't many left on here. Most of the OG's are gone.

Personally I’d look for a standard R1 and use some of that saved moved to upgrade the actual bits you want. Some of the upgrades are not worth even mentioning, like the bar ends and carbon tank covers — those don’t count towards resell. Exhaust, tune, rotors, wheels.. maybe that increases the price but mileage would reduce it back. That bike was $26k MSRP.

Not sure I’d consider myself an ‘OG’ but I started on this forum in 03 but took 13 years off of riding and the forum. I didn’t bother trying to recover my old account here. But there are still some of us around and we don’t all care about typos. 🙃

@Benocehcap is an “OG” and has brought a lot to the forum.

“IQ”? A person’s ability to communicate properly is a clear indication of their level of IQ and you clearly don’t communicate all too well through text. 😂

I personally wouldn’t spend that much on that bike.

I agree with your comments, I won't be spending time on it. It is way overpriced after more research.
For my riding, it may be better to get an r1.

I'll be sure to forward your comments to auto correct algorithms, and designers of tiny keyboards on cell phones.
It doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to decipher, that some errors are due to auto correct or plain fat finger syndrome (I will let you look that one up).
IQ 150 is not required, for such a linguistically forensic analysis.
In fact one can arrive at such conclusions, having IQ of 80.

I won't waste my time trying to edit my posts or prior edits, because someone in the World is not sophisticated enough, to understand, when they see 2029 YZF-R1, it is an obvious typo, and meant to say 2020 YZF-R1. My time is too valuable to screw around with edits, etc.
However for you and your boyfriend ( 😉 ), I made an exception, and dedicated the extra time just for you. This way I am sure you do not become confused because of a quickly typed word or a number. The fewer confused people we have around, the better for everyone.

I would recommend if you don't have insightful comment to add, its ALWAYS best to not say anything at all.
Whatever benocehcap contributed to this forum, I don't want to take away from him. Useless comments based on obvious auto correct or fat finger errors, are not a contribution. They made us all stupider just reading them.
This advice is not just for forum talk. This is good advice for life. I've been around the block many times. You would be wise to at least think about it.
I think most OGs left by the time bone...joined up. Nevertheless, I do look forward to his contribution to enhancing the motorcycling community at the R1 forum space. Take care.

When in the side of the road attempting to Google the possible issue and hopefully get back on the road quickly with a solution this forum appears on pretty much every page. Let's try to remember what this forum is about gents and keep it to questions, answers, and help in general. Going back and forth on here does nothing for anyone. I'd say overpriced as shit personally for multiple reasons but ultimately it is your decision entirely. Where I live and the times in which I ride I rarely ever see any other bikes and when I do it's never anything worthy of talking about afterwards, if I came across an R1m in the wild I probably wouldn't shut up about it. It's a sick ass bike and I understand the appeal but don't think it's really all that necessary unless you find one at a price that you can't pass up and is as close to stock as possible or at least modded to your taste exactly. I see some pretty horrendous mods that when I see them I think "that'll be the first thing I'd change" and at that price you shouldn't have those thoughts at all. Just my two cents.

A 2020 R1M all stock is probably in the ballpark of $22K. This has a lot of mods and I personally would buy new if I was in the 26K range. There’s at least 6k in mods though.

Yeah, many mods i would not mind having. Just spoke to the shop, told them my price for it would be 20K cash out the door. He did not outright scream at me. Told me he will speak to the mgr (its the manager's bike). Story I am getting mgr buys bikes, mods them, rides on streets, then sells. I smell some BS here though. All these race parts (although not safety wired - requirement for races, which is an optimist point here).
So not really thinking. If they go for 20k OTD, then I will surely take it, but not anywhere near 25k at all.
Also looking (even more seriously) at R1 versions, which I can get good suspension for and tune that. IMO suspension is where its all at. They all have all the power you will need on street.
There was a nice R1 which I saw last week, but was out on vac w. family in carribean....by time got back and got to contact, it was sold. Too bad for me. It had a nice earthy military gray look to it. Well. I hope there will be another one one day. Now I need a ride, but need to keep patient more.
