if im not mistaken the pc3r's potential for adjusting the timing is quite negligible if you aren't using race fuel and on the track. so the regular pc3 is suitable for the road. anyone else have a differing opinion?

I think its worth the extra $30 or whatever to get the PCIIr cause you might one day wanna put NOS or run race gas, then youll be wishin you had it.

The PCIIIR can make a difference in smoothing out your power curves and give you a few more horses with any kind of gas. Sometimes the timing is the only way to get a dip out of the power curve. They are worth the few more dollars. You need to have them tuned to your bike by a shop with a Dyno that has a gas analyzer to get it perfect. ;)

bottom line

yesterday I posted regarding the Devil Map with the PC3 / hi mount slip-on. THe results were pretty impressive - the stock bike reg'd about 137 and 142 and change with the pipe... The bottom line is in fact Dan found (along with dynojet) that the R1 WOULD benefit slightly from changing the stock ignition timing by about 2 degrees up top...you can call dan to find out more. The difference was only about 1 horse power though - the real difference, as posted eariler, is when you get a full system and a true ram-air airbox, plus you begin running racing fuel - this is where having the option of changing ignition timing REALLY makes a difference- noticable HP gains, meaning 5, 10 and up depending on what you stick on.... 1 HP is really not noticable by riding - only on a dyno
