Hi all,

Just a question about the bike licence over there in the States.

Do you have to pass a separate bike test to be allowed to ride over there?

Reason I ask is; i've been reading some posts and hearing about this MSF course. It sounds a bit like what we do on our DAS course. Our DAS course is a 4 to 7 day course. It takes you from no riding experience, to a level where you can pass a compusory 40 minute test including: various slow speed maneuvers, hill starts, riding at the national speed limit (60 mph) and general town/city riding. You have to be pretty safe on a bike over 46 bhp to get a licence and its quite easy to fail it.

Its just that i hear people saying that you should make sure you do the MSF course, so was wondering if it is in addition to learning to ride and passing your test.

Might seem like a silly question, but i have no idea how it works over the water!

Thanks in advance for educating me!

yes its a seperate test for the motorcycle license. Ms coarse is is basiclly a training safety coarse on how to ride/brake/ emergency brake and at the end you take the test, s the same test that the DMV gives and you get your license.
