OK guys, i need everyones suggestion before i put the money down cash on a new 2002 R1. I was thinking of putting down 7k and then finance the balance. Dealer just quoted me 9800 OTD and i can't miss this offer. I'll probably do this with Credit Union. 8.9%APR on my '99 R6..this was like 2 years ago.

Which one would you prefer RED OR BLUE??

Your input will be my last decision on the color.

I loved the Red a few years back but now I think the Blue is nicer. So go with Nicer.
You can custom paint it later anyway

R1one, the truth is, the Blue R1 doesn't do anything color wise. It almost looks like the 01's and previous models. If u want sth'n diff the silver/black is hot. But that red has been growing on me more & more. If possible get the silver/black, or the Red, but plzzz no blue. No offense fellow 02 blue R1 owners, just my opinion. And lastly, u can c the shape in more detail on he red 1, unlike the other colors.......I think I mentioned it b4 on another thread.....heres a pic 2 show u what I mean...love that Red1

I have to agree with you [email protected]@alltimes. I already have the Blue R6 and its nice don't get me wrong but that red is just striking out like hey i'm coming with an eye opener by onlookers...
Besides did you guys notice that the red has got a gold fork(which i like)
ANd i can always change the side white cowl to a silver black 2002 R1. There are posibilities. ANd i'm gonna make it.
It seems like poeople on this board is looking at the blue or silver. I was at the Atlantamotorcycleshow and i was there to witness these bikes before it was ever in the showroom. But i was amazed at how the red one just :makeout ..you know what i mean. infact i op fo the blue R6 rather then the red(1999)

And the 2002 R6 red looks hot too. what you guys think?:thumbup

Good man, i'm glad 2 hear ur gettin an 02 R1, color decisions can be difficult, but just remember 1 thing, do not get the blue....I would take the silver, but every1 and their mother is gonna have that color, go 4 Red!!!

I have a blue '00 R1 and still like the blue on the 02s.....the silver looks real nice but i think that everyone wants the silver so if were the buy the new 02 R1, I would get the Red one and then get the white part painted red and the bottom part that is black, maybe have a checkered flag painted on.....

Just my opinion, though....

i got blue.....

my dealer installed a fender eliminator liscense plate holder from a ducati which fits perfectly and some flush mount indicators on the back.

He and all the crew agree the blue is the best. Silver looks good in the pics though.

02 Color Decision

First off, you are getting a GREAT deal !! As for color, on a super high performance machine such as an R1, I want it in the factory racing color---so blue it is.... :thumbup PS: whatever color you get, you're gonna LOVE this bike!

It seems like the Silver R1 price remains the same as the MSRP..they consider them limited Edition. Not in my list anyway...

Blue is sexy too an it blends with the black frame, seems to make it look as one. I already have blue for the past 2 years and in need of a new scene.:thumbup

Red... i hate red, but this opinion was like 2 years ago when i bought the blue R6. This is what happen, when i visit the Motorcycleshow in Atlanta. I was really looking forward to look at the r1 but i waited the best for the last and spend flirting with other model made bikes.
At this moment, i still am not fond of red but there it was
This RED SEXY R1 right in front of me looking so HOT and Sexy it hurts my eye!! I was really amazed at how this red R1 got my attention! I actually ignored the Blue( which i intended to get) I'm not kidding. Would you get a blue dress hottie or a Red dress hottie babe?? Don't you wanna fondle her....hell yeahhh. Red is the color of attraction..this bike i mean. PIcs i've seen on maga zine do not do its justice. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT YOURSELF IN PERSON, PHYSICALLY! PERIOD! I had just comitted an aldultery to my beloved blue colored bike.
ANd not to mention the gold front fork with the red R1..i really like(ohlins wannabe). So if i ever change my mind i could always swap colors later in the future. LIke Rhyan1201 idea on painting the white side cowl to red or the Black Cowl on the Silver R1. Nothing to lose but more idea in the future.

You are getting a good deal. I payed 10,200 out the door, plunked down 5,000 and am financing the rest at 7.5%. And I don't know what is wrong with my insurance company, but they payed off my CBR F3 I wrecked last year and are still only charging me $30 a month for insurance. Gotta love it!!!

Hi, I saw the blue 2001 standing next to a new blue 2002. The black frame in the 02 doesn't "work" with blue (says he with a slight lisp and his wrist cocked at an angle - not very PC of me)

Silver ! I've seen it, touched it (despite the sign !) drool .......and think it is so different.

I understand that this (silver with black frame) will also be the new color scheme for Yamaha racing teams.
