Guys, I have a buddy who's engine recently died. Do you think its a good idea to get a new engine or should he just cut his losses and get rid of the bike? The bike is a 2004. My guess is that because the bike is so old he'll be getting and engine from a wrecked bike or an engine will be parted together from a used/wrecked bike.

he could always try rebuilding the engine if it can be done.

a 2004 is old if the bike itself is in good condition rebuild the engine or get a used one.
