I have Vortex gas caps on all of my bikes, and yeah, I used to have to vent the when it was hot. (Note: Canada doesn't get hot Martin! 
) But then I found out that if you remove the little ball in the base, it vents just fine. Or at least enough so that I don't have to lossen up the cap anymore.
