Had a horrible day. All that wheeleing and speeding caught up with me. Got caught doing a nice wheelie. I never saw where he was. He just got on my ass a few miles down the rode.

I immediatly pulled over parked and got cuffed. He ran everything to find I had a suspended licence. That was news to me. Found out later is was do to a 50 dollar D.M.V fine about a plate I brang back late.

So the bike gets towed to my sisters house (very close by) and I get a driving under suspended licence added to the reckless op. The cop was very professional and I was very relaxed even though I have never been arrested.

Instead of going to jail till monday to get bailed out, he lets me get a ride and go home. We part ways and I go for a ride with the camel unfiltered smoking tow truck guy. :bandit

Since its my first arrest I will plea a article 894 to get the arrest off my record and pay up to the fines for my wrong doing. Plus my brother is a cop and he will accompany me to my hearing.
I am going to stay off my bike till after I go to court so I won't have the judge thinking I didn't learn my lesson.

Crappy day but could have been worse. I should come out of this only a few hundred down. Instead of my bike down sliding on pavement. Today was just my day to get popped and I will take it in stride.

I got popped in a nearly identical way about 12 years ago. Had a fine I paid late, didn't read the fine print on the notice the DOT sent me, four months later I get pulled over and the cop informs me of my suspension. Unfortunately, you not only had to pay the fine, but you had to get a document from the courthouse and take it to the DOT headquarters in Des Moines, or else you'd lose your liscence anyway (for some reason it take 8 or 9 months for the DOT to find out you've paid a fine!). Nevermind that the DOT never informed my that my lisence was indeed suspended. The cop was cool though, he wrote me out my ticket, and said "Now I can't let you ride this thing home, but I'm going this way and I won't be back for a little while, so you can walk home or whatever..." The judge wasn't so cool. My lisence was suspended and I was driving, case closed. Didn't really cost that much, but don't expect your insurance company to be impressed... :fact

Maybe so. The judge knows my brother very well so hopefully I will pay a fine. Take driving school test/school again and be on my way.

I havent had a runin with the law in a long time so I was getting pretty cocky on my bike and the Lightning. I wish it didnt happen this way but I did learn my lesson.

She doesn't play well with others. Also if parked around other bikes no matter where she is put, you always come back to find it in front. :lol

That really sucks, bro.....I got popped wheelying right past a cop on the 4th of july....he pulled me over and said "You're not 16 anymore...." and then let me go!

Of course, the trooper who popped me for 75 in a 55 wasn't as flexible last weekend.....tough break, I hope you come out of it ok and not too much lighter in the wallet.

UPDATE: 10/26/05 LICENCE UN-SUSPENDED

Went to dmv and got my suspension lifted. Found some new stuff out.

Paid $102 dollars for late plate on r6. Paid $102 to lift suspension. $52 for a month that i missed on my Lightnings insurance.

Total = $256 (ouch)

Also found this out. I got a ticket when i was coming back from tubing march 29 ,2004 in hammond. 58/35.

Paid the ticket on 4/03/05. Ticket over end of story. Not quite.

It seems that they did not cash it till OCTOBER 11th!!!!

Needless to say, I had a warrant out and the judge added 144.00 dollar CONTEMPT of COURT FEE.

My licence was suspended because i had not yet received a receipt of payment that you HAVE to bring back to the dmv to get taken off your record.

I got the receipt faxed to me yesterday and showed them today.

When this is all over I WILL get my 144.00 dollars back from that bitch.

Now I will have to go back to DMV tomorrow to get a new licence, retake my test (written and driving i believe.) Get another MC Endorsement. Test and driving. GREAT!

Then on my own accord I will take a defensive driving class to before I go to court to show the judge I am responsible and have learned my lesson. Which I have.

Hopefully this will save someone the trouble of going through what I am going through now.

If you have a ticket and pay for it. CHECK UP on it until everything is settled. Then check again! You can't rely on people doing their jobs. Cause some won't.

Thanks man. I am actually in a good mood right now. I mean after sitting at my house for 3 days and not leaving because of the susp. I am relieved that tomorrow I can drive again. I had too walk to get cigarettes and food. I felt like such a loser. I deserved it though. Sucks.

Y'all can can laugh but last month me and a friend were riding an dpassed a cop in oregon (read55) doing a hundreed plus. we looked back and he didnt turn around. cool, we kept riding. about 50 miles later here come a state trooper and nails us for a 85 in a 55 not bad. we were speeding and got caught. Before you say we were being reckless in this part of oregon it is just desert country with slight rolls and after a few hour s of seeing nothing you are ready to be somewhere. any ways just as the stste trooper was walking back to his cars and we were getting back on our bikes we hear a vehicle come to a sliding stop behind us. low and behold its the first cop we pasted and he is pissed. he isnt even in his jusidiction anymore. he nails us for 105 in a 55 and tells us he was going to tow our bikes but lucky for us the tow trucks were all busy. after recieving our tickets ( now at over a thousand dollars) we continue on. we decide to drop down into cali. for a bit and then circle around and head back to camp. (drags next day) on his way through the bug station my buddy decides that a nice long 100 mph+ wheelie is appropriate. ballsy but dumb before we reach the next town heres our local smokie pulling us over for a talk. here is where our friendship comes to a few hour end. in the end we didnt get tickets from this one but we did get a nice escort back to the border where oregon h.p. was happy to fallow us the rest of the way. at 55 mph. so 4 hours of riding in oregon and cali only cost us a tad bit over 1000$ yeaaa!

At least you have a good attitude about it. As opposed to the typical stupid cops rant. :thumbup to you!

Man,talk about bad luck. 2 tickets in one day ***&ing sucks!!!!! Whenever I get pulled over I turn around and go right home at the slowest speed possible and I'm super nervous for the next few days.

About the suspended license, it happens a LOT. My cousin got pulled over cuz he was lost in the mountains and driving slow and the cop found that his license was suspended because he didn't follow up on some fix-a-ticket. They told him he couldn't drive, so his wife took over until the cop ran HER license and found that she TOO had a suspended license for some unfinished ticket business. They ended up having to shove their 4 kids in the cop cruiser and the cop took em all into the station and wouldn't let them drive their car. You gotta stay on top of these things unfortunately since we all know how efficient the DMV is:p
