Well the market is kinda bad, so i think i lucked out, although the market is bad for everyone. Graduating MIS majors from my school avg a $60k starting salary. I will be working with networking with the Information System depatment.:thumbup
Well from what i learned in school MIS attacks the managing more then the computer side.....
but here is thing....all it is, is a piece of paper.
I graduated with a CIS degree, but i am more in the CS field as a QA Manager......
I think the question i should be asking is....what do you want to do?????

well... i already knew that MIS is about business.... so business has to do with lot of papers...
What do I want to do?
ok... i'll explain
Right now, I'm living in Panama(Spanish as native language/English 2nd language)(betwen Costa Rica & Colombia, nice weather 100% all year)
I'm currently taking some business courses in FsU-Panama(credits are cheaper 120), and then next year, i'll going to FSU-Tallahasee to finish my degree(M.I.S. & 300 per credit and 13 MIS courses) but i havent declared it as my major yet.
What I want, is to experience business world & mix something with computer, It'll be hard for me to get into Computer Science as a major because I suck at Physics.
if all goes well.... and if I get lucky, i'll try to get a job in USA and get a work visa blah blah, work for a few years and then study what I really want, Digital Animation or computer Arts in L.A.
Why I don't go to L.A. directly?
'cause i don't have the money
that's my long term goal... hope I can actually complete it before getting my 30s...

got laid off, started my own business and guess who called me for an interview! IBM

so now, I got my business rolling and I am getting job offers! what the hell!!!!!!! we'll see how it goes...

I used to work for EDS too. I was in the GM part of their business. I never could get it through their thick skulls why wearing a suit and tie in a cast-iron foundry wasn't such a brilliant idea. They wouldn't let us have a push-bike to ride around GM's big site. They said it wasn't professional. They wouldn't let us have 4WDs on their lease plan because they said it wasn't professional. EDS changed their policy from that strict navy blue suit and tie...
They are more casual right now. Although, I got laid off, some of their policies suck big time! I guess its all about what contract you are working on. I heard some real horror stories about EDS, but then my contract was pretty cool. We got all the gadgets! Blackberry pages, laptops, 2 way pagers, cell phones, list goes on..
but then... contract went belly up LOL!
Maybe because of all those gadgets hahaha

I think they have like 140000 people working there now..
Dick Brown sucks balls... did you hear what he said when they asked him about his 55 million dollars a year salary (and please note :cought: thats before his stock options) and people are getting let go for no reason left and right???
