like this that are on an 04 or newer r1? I've looked everywhere. The reason I ask is that I don't see any newer r1's doing anything close to this around Dallas. At least not any with stock or close to stock gearing.

With all the GSXR's, Kawasucki's, and CBR's rolling around, they make this crap look effortless. I realize it takes more revs to bring our later model r1's up but how much easier are the other 3?

the r1 isnt exactly your average stuntbike. not many people use them for slow stunting because thier harder to stunt then say a gixxer. ultimately because of the shorter wheel base. it doesnt take much to do what he's doing though. easily done with two up in the rear.

To be honest R1's suck for slow stunting. The gears are so long, and they are not a very good stuntbike. To fragile, to sensitive on the throttle even with the throttle mod. If somone is stunting them they have extream skill and are only stunting them to show that everything can be stunted, and because they want to impress people. I dont think anyone would stunt a R1 because they like the bike for stunting.

Heres King Rommel on a bone stock 02. Stock gearing and all. Thats about as close as your going to find.

That's what I figured. I've been lurking around the Stuntlife forum and it seems to be a scarce machine. I had a gsxr 600 when I was a senior in high school but my parents found their brains and it became my fathers after 2 months. I don't really remember the characteristics of that bike as far as wheelies are concerned.
Now, 6 years later, I bought an 04 r1 and it seems like I have to really rap it out to bring the front wheel more than inches off the ground (in second gear). I know the slow stuff can be done, I just want to see it on a stock bike (by a non-pro rider) so that I can stop making excuses for myself. There's a youtube vid of a guy on stuntlife just practicing slow/standing 1st gear launches on an f4i (of course) and it's a lot more difficult on an r1 (even with the extra 400cc). Thanks for the replies though.
