Hey guys....For sunday's upcoming ride, after speaking to a bunch of friends that are really in better tune with the CT scene and super sunday, we've decided to make it more SUPER by doing own own BACKROADS ride thruogh Jersey....for anyone that hasn't yet done a backroads ride - I can assure you, they're BETTER - more twisty/turnies and LESS AGGREVATION and BULLSHIT....and so here we are...this will be the "**** Supersunday Ride" (no offense to Marcus Dairy, I still LOVE to come to breakfast there and NON SUPER SUNDAYS)

Basically there are way too many cops and chckpoints and bullshit - so we are doing a backroads ride through New Jersey, which will start early early on long island and proceed on through Jersey and probably go through most of the day- it will be great and alot of fun and it is with my main group of guys, the LIME crew. Chatterboxes are encouraged (GMRS or FRS) and anyone is welcome, provided you ride within your limits!

Anyhow, details will go up either later today or tomorow - but let me know if you're interested so I don't feel like I'm wasting breath.

I would love to go. But it all depends on when my wife spits out our kid, she's due this week. If he comes out by Wednesday I can be there.

Post the details and i'll try to be there

THe details...

Just got 'em....we are meeting at a backroads official meeting place called (gulp) Kosco Harley Davidson!! (As I write this, I'm thinking, JESUS, not only is it Harley joint, but GOD the name reminds me of long shitty shopping trips to that warehouse...Hours of toting along 25 pound bags of fucking pancake flour and 4 gallon containers of soy sauce!!! ....Just kidding)

Anyhow - Kosco Harley: Take the cross bronx over the GW then procede to I80 west, take to 23 north, get off at Bartholdi Avenue and the address is 1149 on route 23..... hope that is good enough.

anyhow - it's about 75 miles from Long island...I'm sure the ride itself will be killer- I've yet to hear of a backroads ride that was remotely close to a let down - these guys literally ride their bikes exploring to find the best bike-oriented roads and then publish a mag to feed themselves...not a bad way to do it! anyhow - please let me know if you are interested (anyone else)

Tom and SanMan - please let me know where you're coming from so I can think of good meeting points

laughs....actually...

Actually I may use it as a gun target soon -I'm sick of havnig it around...you wouldn't believe me if I told you have many bikes I've bought and sold in the past 5 or 6 years - it's absurd. Last time I moved I finally put my foot down and reduced it down to the YZF, my 996, the virago....FInally I broke down and sold the 996 only to (I thought) invest in an aprilia....then one fine day I saw a pic of the proposed new R1 and new that I just must have that bike.

CHANGE OF PLANS....

SO many friggin options this weekend!!! Anyhow, there is another upstate ride happening with some other friends of mine, so I need to make some decisions - so far here it is:

1) Do the marcus dairy thing, if you really are desperate and don't wanna log miles (not my choice, but still your option - no one will laugh at you, it's a cool scene if you havent been there)
2) Backroads ride - clearly this is the best ride for road quality, however there will no doubt be a very diverse mix of bikes and riders - this to me is very cool, however it will not be a sportbike free for all - there will NOT be many high speed outbursts, and remember, you'll have to stick to mainly harley pace and RESPECT it - you don't have to like them, but you do have to ride respectuflly and adhere to their rules - not doing so gives us a bad reputation. Anyhow, a great option to learn amazing roads and make discoveries, but I'm debating between this and option 3 because I like high speeds and I'm starting to really sppreciate my new R1 :D :D :D

3) Alternative (yes, another one) is an upstate ride- soprtbikes only with the RPM crew - great bunch of guys and will probably be a nice size group going up. chatterboxes encouraged of course FRS/GMRS and this will clearly be the most sport-bike oriented ride - remember though, ride within your limits, it's a great bunch of guys ranging from Reserved to FUBAR/Insane, so there's about 31 flavors with somethnig for everyone - wanna ride slow...no problem - meet us there...wanna fly, fine- there's that too - however no stupid shit is the rule. Anyhow - post your thoughts and your decisions - I am still undecided myself...just let me know what you are feeling and I'll let you know what I decide and where to meet me and the group i you wanna ride.

best

Hey SCUD, Sorry I took so long to respond. My son was born yesterday and I've been tied up.

Anyway. if the weather is good I will more than likely be fiding on Sunday. I don't know about this back roads thing going at slow speads. I did a ride about two years ago with some friends of mine that ride Harley's and the like and it sucked. They were riding slow enough to have conversations (literally). I'd rather just hit the highways and have my options.

BTW- I'm just over the Goethals Bridge about five minutes from Staten Isl.
