Hiya guys,
I've seen one pic of the new 2002 R1 in black. I mean totally black. Black frame, black fairing, black rims etc etc. Let me tell you it looks AWESOME.
Thing is - why can't I find more pics of it? Why can't I find any sign of this bike anywhere? None of the official Yamaha sites have this total black beast anywhere, not even a mention of it. Any info on this mysterious R1 would be hugely appreciated. I don't much fancy the other colours (cept the silver) but if I can get me grubby little mits on a black R1. Sold to the man in the silly hat!

That bike is probably not a bike which Yamaha have painted themselves. It is just a custom painting by some lucky '02 R1 owner with lots of cash over

Hey DjF,

The pic of the black 02 R1 is made with Photoshop. It is NOT a real paint scheme (yet). As for changing the color on a brand new R1, I'm in the process of getting mine painted to match my avatar.

Those are stock tires from the original picture from Yamaha. I will post pictures of my bike once it's all complete but it won't be for about another month. I'm stuck driving my 1995 ZX-7 until then. Still enough to attract a fan club :boobies
