Overall they look like normal wear. Not sure of the chip. Could've gotten a stone up in an chipped it. Hard to say from here.

Brake pad wear
I already bought replacement pads as these look kind of chewed up I know there’s still quite a bit of meat left but I also don’t like that crack in the photo.
My question is, does this look like normal wear and what could’ve caused the brake pad to crack?
