Anyone get their new issue of CycleWorld today too. It's got an JJP R1 on the cover. Although it cool to see but come-one $38,900. Jamie James Production has added some nice stuff to the bike but you have to wonder whats going on there. All 3 testers say it worth it ? Looks to me like this custom paint, exhaust, very minor motor work, PCIII, quick shifter, custom trible tree setup, Ohlins all around, Carbon fiber here and there, Custom brakes on the front, just doesn't add up to triple the price.
Also there is an artical on the R1-LE - not bad.

Best thing is it has to R1 listed stories.

This is from another guy not me, I'm way too lazy:
"Well... let's take a look

STM Slipper clutch.................$1287
Rear Sets...............................$500
Carbon fiber panels & fenders....$1000+?

That brings your total up to $30,407

I didn't add in:
Custom paint...................$$$$$$

Port & Polish...................$$$$$$
Race head gasket.............$$$$$$
Suspension optimization....$$$$$$
Quick shifter....................$$$$$$

i'm sure that on the track, all of that work is where things start to shine, but for that much cash - and keeping in mind that i'm sure this thing was tuned mainly for track riding or VERY HARD canyon riding - they could have at least thrown on a better paint job or a race body

don't get it twisted I think that's way too much too, some guys here have more into their bikes and didn't spend as much $$$$

Yeah but you also get a motorcycle that's been set up properly by a former AMA champion and consultant to Ohlins. That HAS to be worth something. You're basically enlisting some of the best in the biz to build you a bike. One thing I've learned modifying bikes/cars, you always get what you pay for. Yep, damn expensive but if you can afford it, I'm sure it's worth the cost. I kept on thinking how the LE was half the cost and how we all thought that bike wasn't worth it. But the JJR is developed and set up to work at a much higher level than the LE and if CW is correct, it works as designed. It's easy to forget how much we all spend modifying our bikes. It's one reason I never whip out the calculator! Take that into consideration and the JJR doesn't seem that unreasonable. Car guys are even worse! I could have easily purchased a high end sports car like a new 911S or 06 Z06 for what I've spent on my rx7.
