I have bought a yamaha r1 from 2000, as a project bike.

After a lot of hours, I still can't get spark.

I have tried:
New battery
Spark plug
Checked the fuses

Tried with other used parts: (hope they work)
Ignition coils
Cdi / Ecu?
Pickup
Stator
Starter relay
Relay unit

Please help.

I have the same issue on my basket case ‘05. When I figure it out I’ll let you know. Mine has a diagnostic function on the dashboard and it passes the spark test then but not while cranking. Does yours have that feature?

Have you checked your main switch. It has two circuits on it. One for main power and one runs through your starting circuit cut off relay to your cdi unit. Disconnect the switch which is under the left fake carbon cover. Ohm out the blue/yellow and blue/black wires with the key on.

Not understanding your statement? When you are checking resistance on the main switch(ignition), you are only checking the switch. Must be unplugged and key turned on. Is this the way you measured the blue/yellow and blue/black wires?
