Does anyone know of a shop in the NY / NJ area that they would trust to mount new tires on a set of BST Carbon fiber rims. I'm deathly afraid of them getting scratched.

I would go to the best Yamaha dealer you have in the area. They must be able to mount and balance the new R1(M) magnesium wheels without scratching them, or they are going own them. so they should be able to handle the carbon.

Thanks, not a bad idea. I have a good relationship with my local Yam dealer, purchased many bikes and parts from them.
