heres a dry weight power to weight ratio for ya

CBR 1000 = 178 kg x 2.2 = 391.6 lbs / 163 hp = 2.4

2004 R1 = 171 kg x 2.2 = 378 lbs / 180 hp = 2.1

So to answer your question, no its not

its a sweet bike though :riding

Sometimes, Honda gives out their horsepower in rear wheel (as I think the case is here). If that's the case:

180-15 = 165
180-20= 160

It's a matter of how efficient the Yamaha Engineers where. WHich makes the Honda right up the Yamaha's ass! It might still be twitchy...They still can't solve that problem on the last model, but they are stacking the tranny, so they can get a longer swingarm = LESS TWITCHY. It'll be fun to see the results!

Damn, those are big turn signals. Is that lower fairing black? I thought it was going to be grey? Black would look better.

That was my 1st thought too.
But it seems only the US market gets those huge ugly blinkers. I really wonder why..

btw this bike just looks like the cbr6. I don't like it.
2004 is gonna be the R1's year :lol

No matter how you look at it all the liter bikes are going to be
very competitive in 2004. I hope Yamaha can be crowned as the
king, but the others will be on our heels fighting it out. It will be
like last year with the 600cc class. I think it's great because it
just makes a better bike for us.

I agree but really think the R1 is going to be on top with the gixxer and the ZX-10 battling it out for #2 and the Honda will be the fat overteked bike claiming it will be #1 because it is a decendant of the 211V but it will fail to deliver enough to make it truely competitive. Just my $.02

That is Honda's claimed rwhp and Yamaha's claimed crank horsepower. Not an accurate comparison
