I am very interested in changing the oil in the suspension myself (front and rear). The bike has already been revalved, so I'm just interested in changing the bushings and seals, along with the oil.

Is this terribly difficult? What tools are necissary? The tools I know I will need so far run about $150.

I have a guy nearby that will do it for $200. If I do it myself he said he'd walk me through it (not positive if he meant he'd watch me do the work and correct/give pointers) he said he would charge the rear for me with nitrogen, and I don't believe he'd charge me that much to do that.

Messy and kind of slow if you've never done it b4. Done a bunch of them with NO special tools, not sure for the R1 though. Check out the manual, it should have the procedure.

Stock rears are often permanently sealed but again, not sure about the R1. Hate to say it but check the manual. There are some ppl that work on sealed units.
