The whole (track)test of the german magazine "PS" is located here.

For all non-germans here the numbers:

1. KWAK - 306 points
2. G1K - 285 points
3. CBR1000 - 284 points
4. R104 - 283 points

I don't really care for numbers, but i'm a bit disappointet of the dyno results, especially the torque of the new ONE in direct comparison. For those who won't get through the whole test:

R1: 165PS @ 11900rpm - 108NM @ 9900rpm
KWAK: 163PS @ 12100rpm - 103NM @ 10200rpm
CBR: 159PS @ 10600rpm - 114NM @ 8100rpm :scared
G1K: 158PS @ 10600rpm - 114NM @ 9100rpm

The curve of the new CBR looks impressive.

I dont see how you could be dissapointed, the R1 puts out more torque than the kawi. Those 2 bikes are the only ones with the shorter stroke engine and on top of that it puts out more hp than all the bikes. Im stoked to see that it put up what it did.

o yea btw im new here, that was my first post:epimp

If you could get rid of those dips at 3200 and 7000 that would be a nice curve. I'm sure Graves already has something to fix that.

yes

"Am I the only who keep seeing peak HP at less than 12k rpms when that thing can rev up to 13500?"

Yes ! look the dyno curves...

2004 R1 power is more than GSXR1000 and Honda 1000 power over 4000 rpm area....just think that and driving on the track !

Thoes Dyno numbers may not be entirely correct. After all teh new ONE uses Ram Air. So unless they Dynoed it in a wind tunnel Thoes number should be higher and will be if they dyno it in a wind tunnel. Why does everyone forget about Ram Air???

Ok, for those who interested, I converted the numbers to hp and lb/ft... ;)

translation

heres the translation of the point table guys:

höchstgeschwindigkeit: max speed
Beschleunigung: accelleration
Gewicht: weight
Leistungscharakteristik: power delivery
Lastwechselreaktionen: power off/power on behaviour
Getriebebetätigung: Gearchange
Getriebe/Endübersetzung: Gearing
Kupplungsfunktion: clutch
Sitzposition: Seating
Handlichkeit: Handling
Fahrstabilität: Stability on straight
Kurvenstabilität: Stability in curve
Lenkpräzision: Steering precision
Abstimmung Vorderradfederung: setting front suspension
Abstimmung Hinterradfederung: setting back suspension
Schräglagenfreiheit: lean angle possible
Bremswirkung: braking effectivnes
Bremsdosierung: braking precision
Summe sportliches Fahren: sum sporty driving

the test is only for riding on a close circuit. there was no street riding involved. the Kwak wins hands down! It is far ahead of the competition... On the main straight of the course it achieved 10 kph more than the next best...

hope this translation helps a bit...

If I remember correctly last year about this time the new Kawi 600 was all hyped up and there wasn't much positive press about the new R6, but look what happened.......................the R6 kicked some serious ass and took names later in the end, hopefully this will be the case with the R1 as well
