Kinda like what Roland Sands does. He makes some 'choppers' that look the part, but have GSXR geometry and handle great. Not a "sportbike" frame but a frame based on "sportbike" geometry that will use most of the R1 components, i.e. motor, forks, wheels, and so on...
Yes - that is a good idea actually. I would never in reality be able to afford a RSD machine, as much as I like them.Yes, very similar to some of the stuff RSD is doing - with one major difference. This set-up will not cost you $75K. Like I referenced my goal is to have the option of transferring all stock components into this frame - meaning you could take the stuff out of your wrecked bike or find it all at salvage yards and on Ebay. And you'd still have a sweet custom machine.
:iamwithst i would love to see some pictures of a concept so we can see where your goin with this so we have a great idea!! so far sounds like an awesome idea!! and cant wait to see all the progress on this buildYes - that is a good idea actually. I would like a sport 'cruiser' type bike - a low mean naked muscle bike. Do you have any concept drawings of where you are headed?

Thanks. Although the hidden fork stop and its design are not new this one did have to be custom designed and made to fit the larger size of the R1 neck. Functions equal to the stock set-up, gives the front end a much cleaner appearance and overall is pretty trick.SLICK! Like the hidden fork stops.
Planning on making ways to hide all the wiring (control, hydraulic, cooling, and electrical)?
