Can the ECU be tested, and how is this done? Can it be done at an persons house/shop, or does it have to be taken in to a Yamaha dealer? Are they known to fail, and can a new one be purchased, and how much would it cost? Are they repairable?

We got the motor in the car and it turns over, but no spark. Seems a relay is bad and on order, but wondering about the ECU too.

It can be repaired...I dont think they can be checked unless you put it on a bike and see what happend...

The only repair shop I know of is in UK.

OK, sounds like we will need to pull it and put it on another bike to test through the dash set. And sounds like if it's bad, a new or used one is in order..........

Anyone know if these are ever available on bikes that are so smashed up that the motor isn't running? Or is that even too risky? I hate to hear what a new one would cost.

I bet they are available left and right...scrapyards.

Yeah,the cost of new is prohibitive,beleive me.
