Got em on my 00 track bike. The covers are good, but the sliders are useless and very ineffective.

Well I'm hoping with the existing sliders I have It can't hurt... should be a solid 3 contact points now on the frame. PS. I don't plan on posting any pictures of how they work.

Nah, I've got swing arm sliders, frame sliders, bar end sliders, clutch slider, and left swing arm pivot slider on the bike, in addition to the FP case covers with sliders. First time "trying out" the sliders, every single one did its job except the FP sliders. The one on the right side (shorter one) doesn't take the hit, and the one on the left side (longer one) snapped off instantly, leaving bent/snapped off screws in the case cover. For the 04 track bike, I got a set of Woodcrafts instead with the replaceabke stainless skid plates, but have not yet "tested" them out. YMMV.

Good to know... let us know how the woodcraft handle, but hopefully you'll never find out...

I initially looked into the Factory Pro covers with the integrated sliders, at the time I also looked at NRC & Creations Engine armor.

I decided to go with the Engine armor after talking to a couple forum members, and kept it on for a couple seasons.

I recently did some more research and decided to try the Woodcraft stator cover, after talking with several forum members who use them regularly on the track. I liked the design of replacable skid pads, mounted from the inside (to prevent shearing) :yesnod

Besides there was just too much CF in that area, on my bike anyways. The problem I ran into thou was for the 02/03 R1, Woodcraft had discontinued the black ano option. Gregg came to the rescue & anodized it for me, with great follow-up & turn around time :rock

Wish someone made a billet clutch cover, I'd seriously consider it, but until then the engine armor stays on it, along with a clutch slider & race pegs :yesnod

PS: the Yamaha Racing logo has been removed, since the install photo, was just too busy looking, besides the TI casing bolts dress it up enough :yesnod

The slider (on the left side) worked a treat on my R1 when is was needed.
Was OK enough to be flipped upside down (for the next time)

a few of my customers have tested the woodcraft sliders they ordered from me and had a "good experience" if that can be said about a crash. They held up very well considering. Hard to really rate them based on all the factors in a crash, but so far i'veheard nothing but good things.

The Woodcraft covers are a lot more common on the racetrack. They perform well in most every crash I've seen where Woodcrafts were involved.
