Factory Pro Velocity Stacks Review WOW

I just installed the Velocity Stacks on my 05 R1. The only other performance mod i have right now is a gutted cat (filter is in but waiting to buy PCIII, also waiting for baffles) Anyway these things are amazing. My bike is stock tuned and it performs amazing with the stacks.

Test rode it today after the mod which took 25min and amazing results.
Before: The front wheel would pull up in 1st and 2nd if I was really hitting it hard and almost trying to get it up.
After: The front wheel will come up easy in 1st and 2nd when im not even trying to, I must be more cautious now. The power has greatly increased from 5k and beyond.

I recommend Strongly AAAAA+++++++++++

V-Stacks make a noticeable difference :fact
I got mine installed a couple off weeks ago(on an 05 as well) and noticed a difference ..even when pulling away from a stop. They are a great investment!
So no remap needed? Just plug and play?
I believe additional gains can be achieved with a high flow air filter and especially tuning.
yes

Its not needed with just the v stacks so yes plug and play. IT is highly recommended once you add an air filter just because you don't want your bike running that lean.

Once I add my bmc race air filter and pcIII I don't think I will need to change the sprockets.
Great Results Already
Yeah i've had the stacks for a few months now and the PCIII should be here next week. The power increase is very nice but the best is yet to come trust me!
Definately nice power is found through the PC3 working with the Vstacks! I love mine, just got them installed... They are Grrrrrrreat!

I agree. I did the V Stacks and then a BMC race filter, and definitely noticed a difference in feel. The V Stacks alone helped but I highly recommend running a BMC race filter as well.
I put the Factory Pro stacks and a BMC filter on my 05. Wow what a difference in sound and performance. Waiting on my Race Baffle, gutted cat and PCIII to tune it now.
I did FP V-stacks first, then PCIII, the BMC race filter, then Arrow headers, then ignition module with Graves ign map and finally Akra Y-pipe thru stock cans. I have thought of putting a nice set of slip-ons on but the cost and additional sound are something that stops me for now.

Power from idle on up is improved, from 5k up it's real strong. Running stock gearing and my buddy Mattf is running slip-ons and a 16 tooth sprocket and with roll ons we're dead even til he hits the powerband(7k ) and then starts to pull creep me but later I catch him(I'm lighter). I ordered a 16 tooth sprocket recently after seeing it only raises the rpms about 400 at 70mph but really boosts the "get up and go"

It takes alot of additional Hp to over come better gearing and the stock gearing is not ideal for pulling off strong roll ons. High speed runs with higher Hp,maybe(many variables) !
Hi Guys!!Been looking thru old threads..... DOES ANYONE know where I can purchase V-Stax for 07R1?!! Factory Pro and Graves only have available for up to 06R1..........
V-stacks

Dude!! ..the 07 and up already have variable length v-stacks(their lenght is computer controlled) ...you don need to buy anything.

Could be that the variable length inlet tracts negate the need for/benefits of Velocity Stacks?

EDIT - +1 on previous post - You beat me to it. :)
at full top end there is not enough gap........ y would a tune up centre ask me to try and get shorter stax...... ?! don't know, just asking......... also,he worked fro Ten Kate race team........ either he's talking a load of b/s or.....

That is the link to a set of YEC stacks for the 07 on ebay.

Peace
Ye the )7 up have the variable intake which gives you the best of both worlds Yamaha say, long stacks low down then as you hit topened, stack raises and you get the "shorter" stack....

I don't know, that is what they say.....:dundun:

Me, I'll stick to my simple '04....raw nasty power...:hammer:
Does anybody nows the height of the stacks ?
