i have heard that the R1 is somwhat notorious for having weak footpeg bolts. what years are this typical for . also what kinda of bolts are you using to replace them? thanks

I wouldn't know what brand to replace them with. All I cam say is match the thread type and make sure you get bolts with a marked high-strenght grade on their heads. I think yamaha has bdone nothing about the situation because the OEM bolts hold up fine under normal use. The bolts started breaking when riders started jumping on them and doing standup wheelies. You are supposed to replace the bolts afer a certain amount of use. I know the race teams do. I would do a search and figure out what Graves Yamaha did when they recieved their bikes from Yamaha.

grade 12 they are like 3 from the factory
