Hey rocktboy

I'm doing a 520 conversion in the next week or so, so I will probably get rid of the 530 set-up. My bike is a 2001, and has only 6300 miles on it, so you know it can't be that bad. I lubed the chain and cleaned it everytime I washed my bike. Make an offer, the only thing is that you might need a new chain, because there is no master link on the factory chain, and you have to cut it off. If you know of a different way to remove the chain and save it, let me know. My e-mail is [email protected]

thanks for the offer brian.
i've been advised by everyone that i need to replace the whole drivetrain setup and not just replace one sprocket or chain at a time. so i am just going to get a new setup.
oh, and my 520 front sporcket looks like this
after only 2500mi. be careful with the 520 stuff, they wear out faster than you think :(

?????

The DID in the pic is one of the best, tensile strength is VERY hi. I can only imagine that ham fisted abuse could result in a sprocket looking like that in 2500 miles. Too loose a chain, lotsa burnouts or bungholio:butt forkshift bending wheelie shifting:confused: Good luck

That sprocket looks like it's been suffuring from a loose chain... You can see that the teeth are bent the WRONG way which suggest that the sprocket suffered from being banged by the loose chain in abrupt on-off throttle transitions. :no

Keep your chain well ajusted and lubed and it should last at least 4X longer than 2500 miles. ;)

If you are still interested I have 2 sets of OEM front and rear sprockets. Both from a 2001 bikes one of them has less than 200 miles in it. I also have +1 tooth in the front for better wheelies available.

thanks rick25. i am not going with stock gearing. I am going with a sprocket specialist 46t rear and 15t front. i thought for easier wheelies you want -1 up front.

and prizmp, the sprocket is not bent the wrong way. i took it off and compared it with a brand new one, and with close inspection, they are actually worn SO MUCH on the drive side that they just appeared to have bent the wrong way.

i am guessing that the reason that the sprocket is worn SO BAD in such a short mileage is because 1. it is a 520 setup, 2. the sprockets i have on the bike are 15t up front and 48t in the rear. the acceleration with that ratio is just :rock INSANE :rock and that may have contributed to the equally insane rate of wear :(

i've heard of stories of chain breaking and damaging engine case. i just want to be safe so i am going back to 530 setup and getting a high quality chain.
