I called KneeDraggers.com yesterday and Lockhart Phillips and both said that it will be about 4 weeks until parts become avaliable for the 02 R-1. All I want is some frame silders! (for now)
Oh well they had better hurry up cause the first track day of the year is on May 13th. I guess the sliders for the 01 R-1 won't fit eh..

Alright then

Tell ya what, first person to get back to me on this thread, not by private message or email, gets a free set of swingarm sliders.

IF, and only IF, they tell everyone here how they looked and what the quality level is....

da winnah!

Yup, Blove gets'em. Emailyour shipping address to me and I'll toss a set in the mail. Also, I'll assume you want them for an R1, if not, tell me which bike you need them for.

I also make handlebar sliders, camera mounts, rame sliders and any custom things in aluminum and plastic.

Cool pics, Liquid.

I have an '02 R1 being delivered to me this weekend for some custom parts and I'll have the frame sliders made for it and ready to go for anyone that needs a set. Glad tp see that the bodywork doesn't need trimming for them.

I'm also looking to make a decent hnager for the license plate and turn signals. Most likely I'l make it out of plate aluminum tock. I'll put up some pics after it's done.

Can anyone think of any other parts that need to be made for the bike? I'll only have it about a week and need to get all of the measuring done so that I can begin making the parts.

Okay Darkside, I'll see what I can do for cheap.

I know how much it costs me to make these things and the aftermarket companies have to make some cash - but jeez, most of this crap is very easy to make and doesn't cost much material wise. Takes me about an hour to make frame sliders, 1/2 hour for swingarm and handlebar sliders.

I just do it for fun though and the equipment ain't exactly cheap.

I'll make something and post a pic then.:beer

Yeah, scan thatr and email it to me. Might give me an idea I don't necessarily want to copy anyone elses - but there are only so many different ways to make a very simple part.

Clutch silders - I can make te plastic portion, but not the steel insert. I only work in aluminum and plastic as I don't have a very good cooling system on my equipment (required for machining steels). Coolants tend to be kinda messy and I havv my shop in the garage - it's messy enough.
