Hi all,

I was out with a friend last night practicing full lean angle turns. What I found is that when I am approaching/at max lean, there is a slight oscillation/shake in the front. My previous bike (93 CBR 900RR) never did this nor did Eric’s RC-51. I don’t know what causes this or if it is something to be concerned with. The front end seems to hold its line despite the shake but it does suck some of the confidence out of a person.

If this is normal for a 2001 R1, is there a way to reduce the effect?

I would just like to add for those of you learning out there, last night was probably the best learning experience I had and I never broke 40 mph. My point is that if you want to learn how to properly corner, start out slow and practice, practice, practice. By the time Eric was done with me in the parking lot I was flying around corners like I had been doing it for years!!!! Take your time and a lot of slow laps… master the technique, then the speed.

Thanx Much!!

I should add that I have been tweaking the suspension and following information found here in the forum. It was suggested to me to raise the forks 5-10mm. has anyone done this and how did it work out??
